About Asclepeion

Asclepeion is a principle-over-profit collective dedicated to human flourishing. The work spans digital platforms and real-world gatherings — but it starts from a simpler conviction: modern tools can serve timeless human needs. Connection. Reflection. Growth.

An asclepeion, in the ancient world, was a healing temple — a place people travelled to in order to dream, to be told a story, and to leave a little more themselves. We're rebuilding that threshold for the modern world, taking what we know about how people actually find their bearings and what we can do now with AI to support that work without replacing what's irreplaceable about being known.

What we are making

Asclepiad is our current project — a confidential AI reflection companion for iOS and Android. Inside the app, you walk into a real place — a forest, an alpine lake, a coast — through a stone lambda gateway. You speak aloud about what's been sitting with you while Maia listens. Hortus writes you a story shaped by what you shared. You receive a letter from Maia. You return through the gate. The path is the structure. No streaks. No badges. No dashboard.

Other ideas exist in our writing and long-term thinking — the Odyssey retreats, the AsclepiCoin community fund — but Asclepiad is the only thing currently shipping.

What we believe

Our guiding philosophy is rooted in what we call Neo-Asclepianism: a secular re-reading of ancient Asclepian healing principles for the contemporary world. The shape of it sits across seven principles — eudaimonia (holistic well-being), interconnectedness, autonomous metamorphosis (self-directed growth), balanced ways of knowing, ethical advancement, cultural evolution, conscientious dialectic. The full text lives at asclepeion.org/philosophy and asclepeion.org/constitution if you want to read the documents themselves.
