The agreement

By using Asclepiad you agree to these terms with Asclepeion Ltd, Companies House 15830285, 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX. Questions or complaints: support@asclepeion.org.

Who it is for

People 16 and over. You tell the app when you were born when you install it, and it does not go on unless that makes you sixteen or over. We do not check it. If you are under eighteen, buy coins only with the permission of whoever pays for your phone or store account; the store's own family controls apply. A person under eighteen may be present at a duo or group table only when an adult at that table confirms it in the app.

What Asclepiad is, and is not

A guest for an occasion: a meal, a walk, a practice, a project, or taking stock of something. The guests are AI, and you are told before you start. Nothing a guest says is medical, legal or financial advice, and Asclepiad is not therapy, treatment or a substitute for a professional. If you are in danger, use the SOS control or call your local emergency number.

Your account

It lives on your phone, with a recovery code shown once. The code reopens it on another phone. We cannot recover it for you: if you lose the phone and the code, the account and the AsclepiCoins in it are gone. You can delete the account any time from Profile. Deleting the account does not cancel a store subscription: cancel that in your App Store or Google Play account.

Your words

What you say in a session is yours. We do not sell it, and we do not use it ourselves to train AI models. We use what you say only to run the session you start, to make the gift it leaves you and keep it for seven days, to keep what you choose to keep, and to meet the law. The privacy policy says what we keep and for how long.

Behaviour

Please do not:

use Asclepiad for anything illegal;
harm or threaten anyone, or use it to harm yourself;
pretend to be someone else, or let someone else use your account;
try to get a guest to say something it should not, or to break, copy or overload the app;
put in what you have no right to share, such as someone else's private details.

If you break this, we may pause or close your account. We will tell you why in the app where we can, and you can write to support@asclepeion.org to ask us to look again.

What belongs to whom

The app, the guests, the pictures and the words we wrote are ours, or used with permission. You may use them to use Asclepiad, not to copy or resell them. What a guest makes for you in a session, such as the gift, is yours to keep, use and share.

Outside services and things we cannot control

Asclepiad uses outside services to work, including an AI provider, and the privacy policy names them. We choose them with care but cannot promise they will always be available. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as a power cut, a network failure or an outage at your phone's store. This does not take away any right you have by law.

Terms of sale

These are the rules for paying. They are part of this agreement.

The monthly plan

You can subscribe to get 100 AsclepiCoins every month for £16.99 a month. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe, and it is the full price, including any tax we must charge. You buy the plan through the App Store or Google Play, where we offer it. The store takes the payment and tells us only that it was made. We never see your card.

The free week. You start with a free week and 25 AsclepiCoins, given when the week starts. After seven days the plan renews at £16.99 a month, and you get 100 AsclepiCoins, unless you cancel before the week ends. You cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. The free week is for one person on one store account, and we may refuse a second one.

It renews by itself every month until you cancel. There is no minimum term: you can cancel at any time, and the plan then stops at the end of the period you have paid for.

Deleting your Asclepiad account does not cancel the plan. Cancel in the store first, or you will go on being charged. We cannot cancel it for you from inside the app.

If a payment fails, the store tries again under its own rules. If it cannot take the payment, the plan stops and no new coins are added. Coins you already have stay.

If you change phone, “Restore purchases” brings your plan back.

If we change the plan, we will not give you fewer coins for the same price without telling you at least 30 days before, and letting you cancel.

Extra packs of coins are not on sale yet. If we start selling them, this section will say what they cost and what they give before you can buy.

Your coins

One coin pays for one minute with a guest. The app shows your balance. Coins you have received or bought do not expire, and they stay yours if you cancel or stop using the app. They have no cash value, they cannot be given to another account or sold, and we do not refund them, apart from the rights the law gives you (see below). If you lose both your phone and your recovery code, or you delete your account, the coins in that account are gone.

When a session is set up, its coins are held out of your balance. If the session never starts, they come back within about twenty minutes. If a session ends because of a failure on our side, its coins are usually returned to your balance automatically.

A code we give you adds coins to the account that uses it. A code can be used once, and an account can use one code. Once a code is used, we cannot take the coins back.

Your right to change your mind

In the UK and the EU you can cancel a digital purchase within 14 days. We have not asked you to give that right up. Because the store takes the payment, you ask the store for the refund, and the store’s own rules also apply. Nothing here limits your legal rights.

Liability

We will provide Asclepiad with reasonable care and skill. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected by anything here. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Complaints

Write to support@asclepeion.org. We reply within 14 days with a first answer, and tell you if we need longer and why. If we cannot settle it, you can go to the courts.

Law

The law of England and Wales governs these terms. If you live in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country's consumer law and you may bring a case in your own country's courts. Elsewhere in the UK you may use the courts where you live.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that affects what you pay, what you can do, or your rights, we tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you may stop using Asclepiad and delete the account before then.

The rest

If a part of these terms turns out not to be allowed, the rest still applies.
We may hand Asclepiad to another company that takes on our duties to you. We tell you in the app first.
These terms, the Terms of sale and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us.
These terms are in English, and the English text is the only version.
