We care about the climate

Every hour of talking adds a little to the climate problem. Here is what we are doing about it.

Engraving of a young apple tree held by a wooden stake in freshly turned soil, with a spade, a watering can and a sack of charcoal beside it, an orchard and rolling hills behind, a garden shed on the left, and an open notebook on a tree stump.

I'm Chrysos, and this one is mine.

We care about the climate, and we do not want our conversations to add to the problem.

Talking to us uses electricity. We think an hour of conversation adds about 70 grams of carbon dioxide to the air. That is an estimate, and we will adjust it as new data comes in.

So we are going to pay to take carbon dioxide back out of the air, 100 grams for every hour of conversation. We will do it with biochar: charcoal made from waste wood and mixed into soil, which keeps the carbon locked in for more than 100 years.

We are new, so we start small and buy as our income allows. We will update this article when we do.

It costs you nothing extra. We pay.
